Bhīṣma–Arjuna Encounter Framed Cosmically
अश्वत्थामोवाच नैव न्याय्यमिदं वाच्यमस्माकं पुरुषर्षभ । कि तु रोषपरीतेन गुरुणा भाषिता गुणा:
aśvatthāmovāca naiva nyāyyam idaṁ vācyam asmākaṁ puruṣarṣabha | kintu roṣaparītena guruṇā bhāṣitā guṇāḥ ||
ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥಾಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪುರುಷಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ! ನಮ್ಮ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಇಂಥ ಮಾತು ಹೇಳುವುದು ನ್ಯಾಯವಲ್ಲ. ಪಾಂಡವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಡೆದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ, ಗುರುವು ಕ್ರೋಧಾವಿಷ್ಟನಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಉಗ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಭೇದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ಅಲ್ಲ, ಅಸಹನೆಯಿಂದ.
