Pulastya’s Instruction
श्रीतीर्थ च समासाद्य स्नात्वा नियतमानस: । अर्चयित्वा पितृन् देवान् विन्दते श्रियमुत्तमाम्,मनको वशमें करके श्रीतीर्थमें जाकर स्नान करके देवताओं और पितरोंकी पूजा करनेसे मनुष्य उत्तम सम्पत्ति प्राप्त करता है
śrītīrthaṃ ca samāsādya snātvā niyatamānasaḥ | arcayitvā pitṝn devān vindate śriyam uttamām ||
ಶ್ರೀತೀರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ, ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿ, ಪಿತೃಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಚಿಸಿದವನು ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟವಾದ ಶ್ರೀ—ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು—ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
Prosperity and well-being arise from dharmic conduct: visiting a sacred tīrtha, performing purification by bathing, maintaining mental discipline, and honoring both gods and ancestors. The verse links inner restraint (niyata-mānasaḥ) with the efficacy of ritual worship.
A speaker (here attributed as “ghulastya uvāca”) states a general rule about tīrtha-yātrā: one who reaches a holy place, bathes with a controlled mind, and performs worship of devas and pitṛs gains excellent fortune—presented as guidance on meritorious practice in the Vana Parva context.
