प्रतीक्ष्म्माण: कालो न: समा राजंस्त्रयोदश | आयुषो<5पचयं कृत्वा मरणायोपनेष्यति,राजन! तेरह वर्षोतक हमें जिसकी प्रतीक्षा करनी है, वह काल हमारी आयुको क्षीण करके हम सबको मृत्युके निकट पहुँचा देगा
pratīkṣamāṇaḥ kālo naḥ samā rājaṁs trayodaśa | āyuṣo 'pacayaṁ kṛtvā maraṇāyopaneṣyati ||
ರಾಜನ್! ನಾವು ಕಾಯಬೇಕಾದ ಆ ಹದಿಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲವು, ನಮ್ಮ ಆಯುಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಮರಣದ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತದೆ.
