ಕರ್ಣನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನಾನು ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಅಷ್ಟು ಭಯಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಬಹಳ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಸದಾ ಧರ್ಮನಿಷ್ಠರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲ ದ್ವಿಜರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಮಹಾಭಯ.
