Entry into the Yakṣa-Lake Episode
नारद उवाच अहो बत महत् पापं सावितन्र्या नृपते कृतम् अजानन्त्या यदनया गुणवान् सत्यवान् वृतः,(यह सुनकर) नारदजी बोल उठे--अहो! यह बड़े खेदकी बात है। राजन! सावित्रीने बिना जाने ही अपना बड़ा अनिष्ट किया है, जो कि इसने सत्यवानको गुणवान् समझकर वरण कर लिया है
nārada uvāca | aho bata mahat pāpaṃ sāvitr̥yā nr̥pate kr̥tam | ajānantyā yad anayā guṇavān satyavān vr̥taḥ ||
ನಾರದರು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ರಾಜನೇ, ಇದು ಮಹಾ ಅನರ್ಥ. ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಸಾವಿತ್ರಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾನನನ್ನು ಗುಣವಂತನೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಾರೀ ವಿಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
