Angada’s Embassy and the Breach of Laṅkā’s Ramparts
Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca—paśyāmi Draupadīm iti.
The verse highlights the dharmic value of speaking from direct knowledge: a claim is strengthened when it rests on personal perception (“I see”), emphasizing truthful testimony and responsibility in speech.
The narrator introduces a reply: someone who has been addressed responds by stating that he sees Draupadī, indicating her presence has been directly observed at that moment.
