रावण–मारीचसंवादः तथा मृगप्रलोभनपूर्वकं सीताहरणोपक्रमः

तस्मात् त्वमपि कौन्तेय न शोकं कर्तुमहसि । राज्यात् स्फीतात् परिगभ्रष्टसतपसा तदवाप्स्यसि,कुन्तीनन्दन! इसलिये तुम भी समृद्धिशाली राज्यसे भ्रष्ट होनेके कारण शोक न करो; तपस्याद्वारा तुम उसे प्राप्त कर लोगे
tasmāt tvam api kaunteya na śokaṃ kartum arhasi | rājyāt sphītāt paribhraṣṭas tapasa tad avāpsyasi, kuntīnandana ||
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಹೇ ಕೌಂತೇಯ, ನೀನು ಶೋಕಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ರಾಜ್ಯದಿಂದ ನೀನು ದೂರವಾದರೂ, ತಪಸ್ಸಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪಡೆಯುವೆ.
