Yudhiṣṭhira’s Lament on Kāla and Daiva after Draupadī’s Recovery
yathā sukhī janaḥ sarvaḥ kṣattaḥ syād annasaṁyutaḥ | tuṣyet tu yajñasadane tathā kṣipraṁ vidhīyatām ||
That dharma in a ritual setting includes prompt, practical care for people—especially feeding and satisfying all attendees. A sacrifice is incomplete if guests and participants are neglected.
Vaiśampāyana narrates an instruction directed to the kṣattā (the steward/organizer) to quickly make arrangements so that everyone present in the sacrificial hall is supplied with food and becomes content.
