क्षत्रियाश्व॒ महावीर्या भगदत्तपुरोगमा: । दिव्यास्त्रविदुष: शूरा: क्षपयिष्यन्ति ते रिपून्
kṣatriyāś ca mahāvīryā bhagadatta-purogamāḥ | divyāstra-viduṣaḥ śūrāḥ kṣapayīṣyanti te ripūn ||
ಭಗದತ್ತನು ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, ಆ ಮಹಾವೀರ ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯರು—ದಿವ್ಯಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಣತ ಶೂರರು—ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುವರು.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in its martial aspect: capable leadership and disciplined expertise (especially in powerful weapons) are presented as decisive forces in protecting one’s side and overcoming hostile aggression.
Vaiśampāyana describes a contingent of formidable Kṣatriya warriors, led by Bhagadatta, who are experts in celestial weapons; he asserts that they will annihilate the listener’s enemies, emphasizing the strength of this support in the unfolding conflict.
