Draupadī-apaharaṇa-saṃdeśaḥ
Report of Draupadī’s Abduction and the Pāṇḍavas’ Pursuit
स्थिरां कृत्वा बुद्धिमस्य प्रियाण्युक्त्वा च भारत | गम्यतामित्यनुज्ञाय जयमाप्रुहि चेत्यथ
sthirāṃ kṛtvā buddhim asya priyāṇy uktvā ca bhārata | gamyatām ity anujñāya jayam āpṛhi cety atha ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಭಾರತ! ಅವನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಿಯವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರು ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು—“ಈಗ ಹೊರಟು ಜಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆ.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Speech and counsel are morally significant: ‘pleasing words’ and reassurance can stabilize someone’s resolve, but if the goal is unjust, such encouragement becomes a force that strengthens adharma rather than restraining it.
The narrator reports that Duryodhana is reassured and his determination is made firm; after speaking agreeable words, those present give him permission to depart and urge him to go win victory over his enemies.
