द्रौपदी-शैब्यसंवादः — Draupadī’s Identification and Counsel on Hospitality
विषण्णास्तव सोदर्यस्त्वियि प्रायं समास्थिते । (तदलं दुःखितानेतान् कर्तु सर्वान् नराधिप ।।) उत्तिष्ठ ब्रज भद्रं ते समाश्वासय सोदरान्,“राजन! तुम आमरण उपवासका व्रत लेकर बैठे हो और इधर तुम्हारे सगे भाई शोक एवं विषादमें डूबे हुए हैं। बस, इन सबको दुःखी करनेसे कोई लाभ नहीं है। तुम्हारा भला हो। उठो, चलो और अपने भाइयोंको आश्वासन दो”
vaiśampāyana uvāca | viṣaṇṇās tava sodaryās tvayi prāyaṃ samāsthite | tad alaṃ duḥkhitān etān kartuṃ sarvān narādhipa || uttiṣṭha vraja bhadraṃ te samāśvāsaya sodarān ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ರಾಜನೇ, ನೀನು ಪ್ರಾಣತ್ಯಾಗ ಉಪವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಶೋಕವಿಷಾದದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನರಾಧಿಪ, ಸಾಕು— ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ದುಃಖಪಡಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಲಾಭವಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನಗೆ ಮಂಗಳವಾಗಲಿ; ಎದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬು.
