Draupadī and Satyabhāmā on ethical household conduct
asya lokasya sarvasya yaḥ prabhuḥ paripaṭhyate | so 'nnirviśvapatiḥ nāma dvitīyo vai manoḥ sutaḥ ||
The verse emphasizes traditional authority and cosmic order: the lordship of the world is affirmed through established recitation (paripaṭhyate), and that sovereignty is situated within a dharmic genealogy by identifying the ruler as a son of Manu, the archetypal lawgiver.
Mārkaṇḍeya continues a genealogical/cosmological account, identifying a world-lord by name—Anirviśvapati—and placing him in Manu’s lineage as Manu’s second son.
