वेदोच्चारणकार्यार्थमयुक्त तत्‌ त्वया कृतम्‌ तव शोकेन वृद्धौ तावन्धी भूती तपस्विनौ

Transliteration

vedoccāraṇakāryārtham ayukta tat tvayā kṛtam | tava śokena vṛddhau tāv andhī bhūtī tapasvinau ||

Translation

ಧರ್ಮವ್ಯಾಧನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ವೇದೋಚ್ಚಾರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ಮಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಂದರೂ ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದುದು ಅಯುಕ್ತ. ನಿನ್ನ ಶೋಕ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯದಿಂದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ವೃದ್ಧ ತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳು ಅಂಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ—ಅಸಹಾಯರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ।
