Enumeration of Aṅgiras’ daughters and attribute-names
अहिंसा सत्यवचनं सर्वभूतहितं परम् । अहिंसा परमो धर्म: स च सत्ये प्रतिष्ठित: । सत्ये कृत्वा प्रतिष्ठां तु प्रवर्तन्ते प्रवृत्तय:,अहिंसा और सत्यभाषण--ये समस्त प्राणियोंके लिये अत्यन्त हितकर हैं। अहिंसा सबसे महान् धर्म है, परंतु वह सत्यमें ही प्रतिष्ठित है। सत्यके ही आधारपर श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंके सभी कार्य आरम्भ होते हैं
ahiṃsā satyavacanaṃ sarvabhūtahitaṃ param | ahiṃsā paramo dharmaḥ sa ca satye pratiṣṭhitaḥ | satye kṛtvā pratiṣṭhāṃ tu pravartante pravṛttayaḥ |
ಅಹಿಂಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಯವಚನ—ಇವು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಮ ಹಿತಕರ. ಅಹಿಂಸೆಯೇ ಪರಮ ಧರ್ಮ; ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ. ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಧಾರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸತ್ಪುರುಷರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅವರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಸ್ಥಿರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತವೆ.
