Agni’s Withdrawal to the Forest and Identification with Āṅgirasa (अग्न्याङ्गिरस-इतिहासः)
इन्द्रोडप्येषां प्रणमते कि पुनर्मानवो भुवि | अवलिप्ते न जानीषे वृद्धानां न श्रुतं त्वया
indro 'py eṣāṁ praṇamate ki punaḥ mānavo bhuvi | avalipte na jānīṣe vṛddhānāṁ na śrutaṁ tvayā ||
ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಇಂತಹ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಇಂದ್ರನೂ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾನವನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು! ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಉಬ್ಬಿ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಹಿರಿಯರ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲ.
