कृतयुगवर्णनम् तथा राजधर्मोपदेशः
Kṛtayuga Description and Instruction on Royal Dharma
सततं धावमानश्ष् चिन्तयानो विशाम्पते । (भ्रमंस्तत्र महीपाल यदा वर्षगणान् बहून् ।) आसादयामि नैवान्तं तस्य राजन् महात्मन:,युधिष्ठिर! मैं निरन्तर दौड़ लगाता और चिन्तामें पड़ा रहता था। महाराज! जब बहुत वर्षोतक भ्रमण करनेपर भी उस महात्माके शरीरका अन्त नहीं मिला, तब मैंने मन, वाणी और क्रियाद्वारा उन वरदायक एवं वरेण्य देवताकी ही विधिपूर्वक शरण ली
satatam dhāvamānaś cintayāno viśāmpate | bhramaṁs tatra mahīpāla yadā varṣagaṇān bahūn | āsādayāmi naivāntaṁ tasya rājan mahātmanaḥ |
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಹೇ ವಿಶಾಂಪತೇ! ನಾನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಚಿಂತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಲುಷಿತನಾಗಿ ಇದ್ದೆನು. ಹೇ ಮಹೀಪಾಲನೇ! ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅಲೆದಾಡಿದರೂ, ರಾಜನೇ, ಆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನ ದೇಹದ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ, ರಾಜನೇ, ಮನಸ್ಸು-ವಾಣಿ-ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಂದ, ವಿಧಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ, ವರದಾಯಕನೂ ವರೆಣ್ಯನೂ ಆದ ಆ ದೇವನ ಶರಣು ಹೋದೆನು.
