Adhyāya 168: Arjuna’s counters to māyā-rains and the onset of darkness

यथा दृष्टश्न॒ ते शक्रो भगवान् वा पिनाकधृक् । यथैवास्त्राण्यवाप्तानि यथैवाराधितश्ष ते,'शत्रुदमन! तुमने जिस प्रकार देवराज इन्द्रका दर्शन किया है अथवा जैसे पिनाकधारी भगवान् शिवको देखा है, जिस प्रकार तुमने सब अस्त्रोंकी शिक्षा प्राप्त की है और जैसे तुम्हारेद्वारा देवाराधनका कार्य सम्पादित हुआ है, वह सब बताओ। भगवान् इन्द्रने अभी- अभी कहा था कि “अर्जुनने मेरा अत्यन्त प्रिय कार्य सम्पन्न किया है” सो वह उनका कौन- सा प्रिय कार्य था, जिसे तुमने सम्पन्न किया है
yathā dṛṣṭas tvaṁ te śakro bhagavān vā pinākadhṛk | yathaivāstrāṇy avāptāni yathaivārādhitaś ca te ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ಶತ್ರುದಮನ! ನೀನು ಶಕ್ರ (ಇಂದ್ರ)ನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ದರ್ಶನಮಾಡಿದೆ, ಅಥವಾ ಪಿನಾಕಧಾರಿ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಶಿವನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಂಡೆ; ದಿವ್ಯಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪಡೆದೆಯೆ; ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವಾರಾಧನೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಫಲವಾಯಿತು— ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಯಥಾವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಹೇಳು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇಂದ್ರನು ‘ಅರ್ಜುನನು ನನಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ’ ಎಂದನು; ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಆ ಪ್ರಿಯಕಾರ್ಯವೇನು?”
