लोमश उवाच शृणुष्वावहितो राजनू् राज्ञस्तस्य महात्मन: । यथा मान्धातृशब्दो वै लोकेषु परिगीयते,लोमशजीने कहा--राजन्! लोकमें उन महामना नरेशका “*मान्धाता” नाम कैसे प्रचलित हुआ? यह बतलाता हूँ, ध्यान देकर सुनो
Lomaśa uvāca: śṛṇuṣvāvahito rājan rājñas tasya mahātmanaḥ | yathā Māndhātṛ-śabdo vai lokeṣu parigīyate ||
ಲೋಮಶನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ರಾಜನೇ, ಎಚ್ಚರದಿಂದ ಕೇಳು. ಆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ರಾಜನ ಕುರಿತು—ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಮಾಂಧಾತೃ’ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
