च्यवन-यज्ञे अश्विनोः सोमग्रहण-विवादः

अगृलह्लाच्च्यवन: सोममश्रिनोर्देवयोस्तदा । तमिन्द्रो वारयामास गृह्नानं स तयोग्रहम्,महर्षि च्यवनने उस समय दोनों अश्विनीकुमारों-को देनेके लिये सोमरसका भाग हाथमें लिया। उन दोनोंके लिये सोमका भाग ग्रहण करते समय इन्द्रने मुनिको मना किया

ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ಚ್ಯವನನು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಶ್ವಿನೀಕುಮಾರರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ಸೋಮರಸದ ನಿಯತ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಆ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ, ಅವರು ಸೋಮಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಿಸಿ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಮುನಿಯನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದನು; ಇದರಿಂದ ಸಂಘರ್ಷ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿತು.
