Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition
शमं वै याचमानस्त्वं नाधर्म तत्र लप्स्यसे । कुरून् विगर्हयिष्यन्ति धृतराष्ट्र च पार्थिवा:
śamaṃ vai yācamānas tvaṃ nādharmaṃ tatra lapsyase | kurūn vigarhayiṣyanti dhṛtarāṣṭraṃ ca pārthivāḥ ||
ನೀವು ಶಾಂತಿಗಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿ ಸಂಧಾನವನ್ನು ಯಾಚಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅದರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಧರ್ಮದ ಪಾಲು ದೊರೆಯದು. ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಜರು ಕೌರವರನ್ನೂ ಧೃತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರನನ್ನೂ ಗರ್ಹಿಸುವರು.
