Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition
न चैवं नैछिकं कर्म क्षत्रियस्य विशाम्पते । आहुराश्रमिण: सर्वे न भेक्षे क्षत्रिय श्षरेत्
na caivaṃ naiṣṭhikaṃ karma kṣatriyasya viśāmpate | āhur āśramiṇaḥ sarve na bhikṣe kṣatriyaḥ śrayet ||
ಆದರೆ ಓ ಪ್ರಜಾಪತೇ, ಇದು ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯನ ನೈಷ್ಠಿಕ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಆಶ್ರಮಗಳ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು—ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯನು ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡಬಾರದೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
