Entry into the Royal Assembly and Sañjaya’s Envoy Report
śuśubhe sā sabhā rājan siṃhair iva gire-guhā | janamejaya! tadā parigha-samāna-su-dṛḍha-bhujaiḥ śūra-vīra-nṛpaiḥ praviśadbhiḥ sā sabhā tathā śobhām avāpa yathā siṃha-praveśaiḥ parvata-kandarā suśobhitā bhavati ||
The verse highlights how collective strength and disciplined valor can lend grandeur to a public space; ethically, it hints that power, while majestic, also carries the weight of responsibility and the potential to intensify impending conflict.
Vaiśampāyana describes the scene of a royal assembly becoming radiant as mighty warrior-kings enter; their formidable presence is compared to lions entering a mountain cave, elevating the atmosphere with awe and latent tension.
