प्राज्ञोपसेविन वैद्यं धार्मिकं प्रियदर्शनम्‌ । मित्रवन्तं सुवाक्यं च सुहृदं परिपालयेत्‌,जो दविद्वानोंकी सेवामें रहनेवाला, वैद्य, धार्मिक, देखनेमें सुन्दर, मित्रोंसे युक्त तथा मधुरभाषी हो, ऐसे सुहृदकी सर्वथा रक्षा करनी चाहिये

Transliteration

prājñopasevinaṃ vaidyaṃ dhārmikaṃ priyadarśanam | mitravantaṃ suvākyaṃ ca suhṛdaṃ paripālayet ||

Translation

ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವವನು, ವೈದ್ಯನಂತೆ ನಿಪುಣನು, ಧರ್ಮನಿಷ್ಠನು, ನೋಡಲು ಪ್ರಿಯನು, ಮಿತ್ರಸಂಪನ್ನನು, ಮಧುರ ಹಾಗೂ ಯುಕ್ತವಾದ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನು—ಅಂತಹ ಸುಹೃದನನ್ನು ಯತ್ನಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಪೋಷಿಸಬೇಕು.
