उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
राजा लक्षणसम्पन्नस्त्रैलोक्यस्यापि यो भवेत् | शिष्यस्ते शासिता सोडस्तु धृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिर:
rājā lakṣaṇasampannastrailokyasyāpi yo bhavet | śiṣyaste śāsitā soḍastu dhṛtarāṣṭra yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
ವಿದುರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಓ ಧೃತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ! ರಾಜಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂಪನ್ನನಾಗಿ ತ್ರಿಲೋಕಕ್ಕೂ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗುವ ರಾಜನಾದರೂ ಶಿಸ್ತು-ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು. ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ನಿನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯ—ಉಪದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವವನು, ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಶನಾಗುವವನು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮೋಹವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಮಂತ್ರ-ಸಲಹೆಯಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸು.
