atha duryodhana brūyā rājaputram amarṣaṇam | madhye kurūṇām āsīnam anunīya punaḥ punaḥ ||

Educational Q&A

Even when the other party is inflamed with resentment, one should first employ conciliatory speech and repeated persuasion—exhausting peaceful, dharmic means before allowing matters to move toward violence.

Yudhiṣṭhira gives guidance about approaching Duryodhana in the Kuru assembly: address him respectfully and try to soften him through repeated entreaty, indicating a diplomatic attempt to avert escalation.
