Sañjaya’s Envoy-Speech on Peace
क्षत्तुर्यदा नान्ववर्तन्त बुद्धि कृच्छूं कुरून् सूत तदाभ्याजगाम । यावत् प्रज्ञामन्ववर्तन्त तस्य तावत् तेषां राष्ट्रवृद्धिर्ब भूव
kṣattur yadā nānvavartanta buddhiṃ kṛcchūṃ kurūn sūta tadābhyājagāma | yāvat prajñām anvavartanta tasya tāvat teṣāṃ rāṣṭravṛddhir babhūva, sūta |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಸೂತ! ಕೌರವರು ಕ್ಷತ್ತೃ (ವಿದುರ)ನ ವಿವೇಕಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಾಗಲೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲ ಬಂತು. ಅವರು ಅವನ ಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಷ್ಟು ಕಾಲ ಅವರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯೇ ಕಂಡಿತು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದ ಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದಲೇ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸತೊಡಗಿತು.
