Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)
जिनका तेज कभी क्षीण नहीं होता, उन महादेवजीके वचनोंपर श्रद्धा रखनेके कारण राजा ट्रपदने उसके कन्याभावको छिपाया और पुत्र होनेकी घोषणा कर दी ।।
jātakarmāṇi sarvāṇi kārayāmāsa pārthivaḥ | puṁvad vidhāna-yuktāni śikhaṇḍīti ca tāṁ viduḥ ||
ಮಹಾದೇವನ ವಚನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ರಾಜ ದ್ರುಪದನು ಅವಳ ಕನ್ಯಾಭಾವವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ, ಪುತ್ರನೆಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದನು. ಪಾರ್ಥಿವನು ಪುರುಷಶಿಶುವಿಗೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ಕ್ರಮದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಾತಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದನು; ಜನರು ಅವಳನ್ನು ‘ಶಿಖಂಡಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದರು.
