Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)
पुत्रवत् पुत्रकार्याणि सर्वाणि समकारयत् । रक्षणं चैव मन्त्रस्य महिषी द्रुपदस्य सा
putravat putrakāryāṇi sarvāṇi samakārayat | rakṣaṇaṁ caiva mantrasya mahiṣī drupadasya sā, narendra |
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ಹೇ ನರೇಂದ್ರ! ದ್ರುಪದನು ಆ ಗುಪ್ತ ಮಗುವಿಗಾಗಿ ಪುತ್ರನಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದನು. ದ್ರುಪದನ ರಾಣಿ ಆ ರಹಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ಎಲ್ಲ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಳು; ಅವಳು ಸದಾ ಅವಳನ್ನು ‘ಪುತ್ರ’ ಎಂದೇ ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರುಪದನನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಅವಳು ಕನ್ಯೆಯೆಂಬುದು ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ।
