चरितव्रद्याचर्याश्व सर्वे तात तपस्विन: । ह्वीमन्त: पुरुषव्याप्रा व्याप्रा इव बलोत्कटा:
caritavrata-brahmacaryāś ca sarve tāta tapassvinaḥ | hrīmantaḥ puruṣavyāghrā vyāghrā iva balotkaṭāḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ತಾತ! ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳು, ವ್ರತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರರು; ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚರ್ಯಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹ್ರೀಮಂತರಾದ, ಪುರುಷವ್ಯಾಘ್ರರಾದ ಆ ಪಾಂಡವರು ವ್ಯಾಘ್ರಗಳಂತೆ ಉಗ್ರ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
