Bhīṣma’s Appraisal of Kaurava Champions (भीष्मकृतः रथिनां गुणनिरूपणम्)
अर्थसिद्धि तव रणे करिष्यति न संशय: । शस्त्रविद्धिरनाधृष्यो दूरपाती दृढायुध:
bhīṣma uvāca |
arthasiddhiṁ tava raṇe kariṣyati na saṁśayaḥ |
śastraviddhir anādhṛṣyo dūrapātī dṛḍhāyudhaḥ |
haniṣyati camūṁ teṣāṁ mahendro dānavān iva ||
ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಭಿಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಧಿಸುವನು—ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಶಸ್ತ್ರವಿದ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಂಡಿತ, ಮಹಾ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರಿಗೂ ಅಜೇಯ; ದೃಢಾಯುಧಧಾರಿ, ದೂರದ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬೀಳಿಸುವವನು. ಮಹೇಂದ್ರನು ದಾನವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಅವನು ಅವರ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವನು.
