कृतो यत्नो महांस्तत्र शम: स्यथादिति भारत । धर्मस्य गतमानृण्यं न सम वाच्या विवक्षताम्
kṛto yatno mahāṁs tatra śamaḥ syathāditi bhārata | dharmasya gatam ānṛṇyaṁ na sama-vācyā vivakṣatām ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಭಾರತ! ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಮಹಾಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಅದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಧರ್ಮದ ಉಳಿದ ಋಣದಿಂದಲೂ ಮುಕ್ತರಾದೆವು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಇತರರ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಉತ್ಸುಕರಾದವರೂ ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾನ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
