Martial power is ethically framed by inner discipline and truthfulness: the warrior described is not only invulnerable but also satyavādī (truthful) and jitendriya (self-controlled), suggesting that rightful force in the epic is ideally allied with restraint and moral legitimacy.
Vaiśampāyana characterizes the warrior (Dhṛṣṭadyumna) as weapon-proof and elephant-like in irresistible force, emphasizing that his very birth has a specific purpose: the downfall of Droṇa. This sets up Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s role as a destined counterforce within the coming Kurukṣetra conflict.
