Sāma–Bheda–Daṇḍa
बाह्लीकस्य प्रियो भ्राता शान्तनोश्व॒ महात्मन: । सौक्षात्रं च परं तेषां सहितानां महात्मनाम्,*वे बाह्नीक तथा महात्मा शान्तनुके प्रिय बन्धु थे। परस्पर संगठित रहनेवाले उन तीनों महामना बन्धुओंका परस्पर अच्छे भाईका-सा स्नेहपूर्ण बर्ताव था
Bāhlīkasya priyo bhrātā Śāntanoś ca mahātmanaḥ | Saukṣātraṃ ca paraṃ teṣāṃ sahitānāṃ mahātmanām ||
ವಾಯುನುಡಿದನು—ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಶಾಂತನುಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನು ಬಾಹ್ಲೀಕ; ಮತ್ತು ಏಕಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದಿರುವ ಆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಕ್ಷಾತ್ರಬಂಧವೂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಸಹೋದರರ ನಡುವೆ ಆದರ್ಶ ಭ್ರಾತೃಸ್ನೇಹ, ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಢ ಏಕತೆ ನೆಲೆಸಿತ್ತು.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of fraternal dharma: noble people remain united, and their relationships are sustained by mutual affection, respect, and steadfast solidarity—conducting themselves toward one another as true brothers should.
Vāyudeva describes the close familial bond among eminent figures connected with Śāntanu: Bāhlīka is presented as Śāntanu’s beloved brother, and the group (including the one designated as Saukṣātra) is portrayed as living in close association with exemplary brotherly affection.
