दीयतां पाण्डुपुत्रेभ्यो राज्यार्धमरिकर्शन । सममाचार्यक॑ तात तव तेषां च मे सदा,'शत्रुसूदन! तुम पाण्डवोंका आधा राज्य दे दो। तात! मेरा यह आचार्यत्व तुम्हारे और पाण्डवोंके लिये सदा समान है
dīyatāṃ pāṇḍuputrebhyo rājyārdham arikarṣaṇa | samam ācāryakaṃ tāta tava teṣāṃ ca me sadā ||
ಓ ಶತ್ರುನಿಗ್ರಹಕನೇ! ಪಾಂಡುಪುತ್ರರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅರ್ಧವನ್ನು ನೀಡು. ಮಗನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಆಚಾರ್ಯತ್ವವು ನಿನಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಸದಾ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ.
वायुदेव उवाच
A ruler should act with fairness and restraint: offering the Pāṇḍavas their rightful share prevents adharma and needless war, and a true teacher must remain impartial between rival parties.
Vāyu addresses a warrior-king as ‘subduer of foes’ and urges him to settle the dispute by granting the Pāṇḍavas half the kingdom, emphasizing that his guidance as an ācārya is equally meant for both sides.
