Kṛṣṇa’s Conciliatory Address to Karṇa
निदेशे यस्य राजानः सर्वे तिष्ठन्ति किड्करा: । तमैलविलमासाद्य धर्मराजो व्यराजत
nideśe yasya rājānaḥ sarve tiṣṭhanti kiṅkarāḥ | tam ailavilam āsādya dharmarājo vyarājata ||
ಯಾರ ಆದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಾಜರೂ ಸೇವಕರಂತೆ ನಿಂತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆ ಐಲವಿಲ—ಧನಾಧಿಪತಿ ಕುಬೇರನನ್ನು—ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿ ಧರ್ಮರಾಜ ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ಅವನ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿರಾಜಮಾನನಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿದನು.
भीष्म उवाच
Legitimate authority is grounded in dharma: even mighty rulers acknowledge and stand in service to a higher, rightful command, and Yudhishthira’s radiance is portrayed as arising from moral stature rather than mere power.
Bhishma describes Yudhishthira approaching and sitting with Kubera (Ailavila), whose command is obeyed by all kings like attendants, highlighting the grandeur of the setting and Yudhishthira’s distinguished presence there.
