Adhyāya 128 — Proposal to Restrain Keśava; Sātyaki’s Warning and Vidura–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Counsel

समं हि राज्यं प्रीतिश्व स्थानं हि विदितात्मनाम्‌ । पाण्डवेष्वथ युष्मासु धर्मस्त्वभ्यधिकस्तत:,“क्योंकि इन आत्मज्ञानी पुरुषोंकी दृष्टिमें इस राज्यका पाण्डवों अथवा तुमलोगोंके पास रहना समान ही है। इनके हृदयमें दोनोंके लिये एक-सा ही प्रेम और स्थान है तथा राज्यसे भी बढ़कर ये धर्मको महत्त्व देते हैं

samam hi rājyaṁ prītiś ca sthānaṁ hi viditātmanām | pāṇḍaveṣv atha yuṣmāsu dharmas tv abhyadhikas tataḥ ||

ವಿದಿತಾತ್ಮರಾದ ಆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಪಾಂಡವರ ಬಳಿ ಇರಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿ ಇರಲಿ—ಎರಡೂ ಸಮಾನ. ಎರಡೂ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳಿಗೂ ಅವರ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾನ ಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ; ಆದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಧರ್ಮವೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದು.
