एवमेषा द्विजश्रेष्ठ गुणैरन्यैर्दिगुत्तरा
evameṣā dvijaśreṣṭha guṇair anyair diguttarā
ಹೀಗಾಗಿ, ಹೇ ದ್ವಿಜಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ, ಈ ದಿಕ್ಕು ತನ್ನ ಅನೇಕ ಗುಣಗಳಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾಗಿದೆ.
युपर्ण उवाच
The verse upholds guṇa (virtue) as the true measure of excellence: moral and personal qualities make one ‘pre-eminent everywhere,’ implying that ethical character is a higher standard than mere status or circumstance.
Yuparṇa addresses a Brahmin respectfully and affirms that ‘she’—a woman under discussion—stands out above others due to her many virtues, continuing a descriptive or evaluative passage that highlights exemplary conduct.
