एतत्‌ ते सर्वमाख्यातं वैशम्पायनकीर्तितम्‌ । व्यासाज्ञया समज्ञातं सर्पसत्रे नूपस्य हि

Transliteration

etat te sarvam ākhyātaṃ vaiśampāyana-kīrtitam | vyāsājñayā samajñātaṃ sarpasatre nṛpasya hi ||

Translation

ಇದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆನು—ರಾಜ ಜನಮೇಜಯನ ಸರ್ಪಸತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಿಂದ ಮುನಿವರ ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ ಇತಿಹಾಸವೃತ್ತಾಂತವನ್ನು. ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಂತೆ, ಪರಂಪರೆಯಿಂದ ಪಡೆದಂತೆ ಇರುವ ಆ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇತಿಹಾಸಧಾರೆಯನ್ನು ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ವರ್ಣಿಸಿದೆನು.
