शोक-शमन उपदेशः

Instruction on the Pacification of Grief

छिन्न॑ वाप्यवरोप्यन्तमवतीर्णमथापि वा । आदी वाप्यथवा शुष्क॑ पच्यमानमथापि वा

Transliteration

chinnaṃ vāpy avaropyantam avatīrṇam athāpi vā | ādī vāpy athavā śuṣkaṃ pacyamānam athāpi vā

Translation

ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದರೂ; ಸುಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅಥವಾ ಒಣಗಿ ಕಾವುಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ—ಅಂತಹ ಅತಿದುರವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
