तेषामहं भयाद्‌ राजन्‌ गमिष्याम्यन्यमाश्रमम्‌ | तैहि मे संधितो बाण: काके निपतित: प्रभो,नरेश्वर! मैं उन विरोधियोंके भयसे दूसरे आश्रममें चला जाऊँगा। प्रभो! उन्होंनें मेरे लिये ही बाणका संधान किया था; किंतु वह उस कौएपर जा गिरा

teṣām ahaṃ bhayād rājan gamiṣyāmy anyam āśramam | taiḥ me sandhito bāṇaḥ kāke nipatitaḥ prabho ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ನರೇಶ್ವರನೇ! ಆ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳ ಭಯದಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಆಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವೆನು. ಪ್ರಭೋ! ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿಸಿ ಸಂಧಾನಿಸಿದ್ದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಕಾಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿತು।
