ब्राह्मणान् परिरक्षन्ति संग्रामेष्वपलायिन: । क्षत्रिया मे स्वकर्मस्था मामकान्तरमाविश:
brāhmaṇān parirakṣanti saṅgrāmeṣv apalāyinaḥ | kṣatriyā me svakarmasthā māmaka-antaraṃ āviśaḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯರು ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಯುದ್ಧಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ—ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದೆ?
