सत्यार्जवं चातिथिपूजनं च धर्मस्तथार्थश्ष रति: स्वदारै: | निषेवितव्यानि सुखानि लोके हास्मिन् परे चैव मतं ममैतत्
satyārjavaṃ cātithipūjanaṃ ca dharmas tathārthaś ca ratiḥ svadāraiḥ | niṣevitavyāni sukhāni loke hāsmin pare caiva mataṃ mamaitat ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಸತ್ಯ, ಸರಳತೆ, ಅತಿಥಿ-ಪೂಜೆ, ಧರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥದ ಸಾಧನೆ, ಹಾಗೂ ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತ ಪ್ರೀತಿ—ಇವೇ ಗೃಹಸ್ಥನಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಸುಖಗಳು. ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರೆ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸುಖ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ; ಇದು ನನ್ನ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತ ಮತ।
