प्रेष्प्माणा विकल्पन्ते गुह्मां चाप्पनुयुञ्जते । अयाच्य॑ चैव याचन्ते भोज्यान्याहारयन्ति च
preṣyamāṇā vikalpante guhyaṃ cāpy anuyuñjate | ayācyaṃ caiva yācante bhojyāny āhārayanti ca ||
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಅನಾವಶ್ಯಕ ಸಂಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗುಪ್ತ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲೆಹಾಕಿ ರಾಜನ ಮರೆಮಾಚಿದ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೇಡದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬೇಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ರಾಜನಿಗಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ ತಾವೇ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.
