भार्गवाच्च्यवनाच्चापि वेदानड्रोपबृंहितान् । प्रतिपेदे महाबाहुर्वसिष्ठाच्चरितव्रतः,“ब्रह्मचर्यव्रतका पालन करके महाबाहु भीष्मने भृगुवंशी च्यवन तथा महर्षि वसिष्ठसे वेदाड़ोंसहित वेदोंका अध्ययन किया है
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
bhārgavāc chyavanāc cāpi vedān aṅgopabṛṃhitān |
pratipede mahābāhur vasiṣṭhāc caritavrataḥ ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ಮಹಾಬಾಹು, ವ್ರತನಿಷ್ಠನಾದ ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಪಾಲಿಸಿ, ಭಾರ್ಗವ ಚ್ಯವನನಿಂದಲೂ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ವಸಿಷ್ಠನಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಂಗ ವೇದಗಳನ್ನು ಯಥಾವಿಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಅರಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
