नागैः सह ब्राह्मणस्य अतिथिधर्म-व्रतसंवादः | The Brahmin’s Vow and the Nāgas’ Hospitality Appeal
नास्य भक्तात् प्रियतरो लोके कश्नन विद्यते । ततः स्वयं दर्शितवान् स्वमात्मानं द्विजोत्तम
nāsya bhaktāt priyataro loke kaścana vidyate | tataḥ svayaṃ darśitavān svam ātmānaṃ dvijottama nārada |
ನಾರದಾ! ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತನಿಗಿಂತ ಭಗವಂತನಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ದ್ವಿಜೋತ್ತಮಾ, ಅವನು ಸ್ವತಃ ನಿನಗೆ—ನಾರದನಿಗೆ—ತನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮಸ್ವರೂಪವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದನು.
नारद उवाच
The Lord values devotion above all worldly distinctions; because the devotee is dearest, the Lord grants direct revelation of His own Self as an act of grace.
Nārada explains why a divine vision occurred: it happened because the Lord especially loves His devotees, and thus personally revealed His own form/essence to the addressed brāhmaṇa (dvijottama).
