तस्मादात्मानमेवाग्रे रुद्रं सम्पूजयाम्यहम् | पाण्डुकुमार! मैं सम्पूर्ण जगत्का आत्मा हूँ। इसलिये मैं पहले अपने आत्मारूप रुद्रकी ही पूजा करता हूँ
tasmād ātmānam evāgre rudraṃ sampūjayāmy aham |
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮೊದಲಾಗಿ ರುದ್ರನನ್ನು ನನ್ನದೇ ಆತ್ಮಸ್ವರೂಪವೆಂದು ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಪಾಂಡುಕುಮಾರನೇ! ನಾನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಆತ್ಮನು; ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲೇ ಆತ್ಮರೂಪ ರುದ್ರನನ್ನೇ ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
