अध्याय ३३७ — ज्ञानमार्ग-वैविध्यप्रश्नः तथा व्यासस्य नारायणोद्भवकथा
Systems of Knowledge and Vyāsa’s Nārāyaṇa-Origin
सम्भूता: सर्वसम्भारास्तस्मिन् राजन् महाक्रतौ । न तत्र पशुघातो5भूत् स राजैवं स्थितो5भवत्
sambhūtāḥ sarva-sambhārās tasmin rājan mahā-kratau | na tatra paśu-ghāto 'bhūt sa rājā evaṃ sthito 'bhavat ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ರಾಜನೇ, ಆ ಮಹಾಕ್ರತುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯಜ್ಞಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು ಸಮ್ಯಕವಾಗಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದವು; ಆದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪಶುಹತ್ಯೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಹಿಂಸಾಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಅದೇ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದಿಂದ ರಾಜ ಉಪರಿಚರನು ಆ ಯಜ್ಞದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
