Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)

पाणौ कुण्डं तथा कुण्डे पय: पयसि मक्षिका । अश्रिताश्रययोगेन पृथक्त्वेनाश्रिता: पुन:,हाथमें कुंडी है, कुंडीमें दूध है और दूधमें मक्खी पड़ी हुई है। ये तीनों परस्पर पृथक्‌ होते हुए भी आधाराधेय-भाव सम्बन्धसे एक दूसरेके आश्रित हो एक साथ हो गये हैं

pāṇau kuṇḍaṃ tathā kuṇḍe payaḥ payasi makṣikā | āśritāśraya-yogena pṛthaktvenāśritāḥ punaḥ ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಇದೆ; ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಲು ಇದೆ; ಹಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನೊಣ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೂರು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾದರೂ, ಆಶ್ರಯ–ಆಶ್ರಿತ ಸಂಬಂಧದಿಂದ ಒಂದೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ, ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಅವಲಂಬಿತವಾಗಿವೆ॥
