नारद–शुक संवादः
Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga
अथोक्तश्न महाराज राजा गन्धर्वसत्तम: । पृष्टवाननुपूर्वेण प्रश्नमर्थविदुत्तमम्
atho'ktaś ca mahārāja rājā gandharva-sattamaḥ | pṛṣṭavān anupūrveṇa praśnam artha-vid-uttamam ||
ಯಾಜ್ಞವಲ್ಕ್ಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ಮಹಾರಾಜನೇ, ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಗಂಧರ್ವರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದ ಆ ರಾಜನು, ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನೆಂದು, ಕ್ರಮಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ— ‘ರಾಜನೇ, ನೀನು ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ಪರಮೋತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯ; ಅವುಗಳ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅರಿತವನು. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತು ತಂಗು; ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾನು ಚಿಂತಿಸುವೆ’ ಎಂದೆ. ‘ಬಾಢಮ್’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಗಂಧರ್ವರಾಜನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಕುಳಿತನು।”
