तामसानां च जनन््तूनां रमणीयावृतात्मनाम् । सात््विकानां च जन््तूनां कुत्सितं भरतर्षभ
Transliteration
tāmasānāṁ ca jantūnāṁ ramaṇīyāvṛtātmanām | sāttvikānāṁ ca jantūnāṁ kutsitaṁ bharatarṣabha ||
Translation
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಓ ಭರತಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ, ಇದು ನಿಂದನೀಯ: ಮನೋಹರ ಭೋಗಗಳಿಂದ ಅಂತರಾತ್ಮ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ತಾಮಸ ಸ್ವಭಾವದ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಸಾತ್ತ್ವಿಕ ಜೀವಿಗಳೂ ಸಹ ಕುತ್ತ್ಸಿತ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕರ್ಷಿತರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ।
